I never understood the power meditation had until only recently. People would tell me to meditate when I was much younger and I would do it for a while but then I would stop.
As I grew older and started doing it more and more I started to see the difference it was having on my life. I began with just 5 minutes quieting my mind and deep breathing. This gave me so much peace and clarity that I started to incorporate it into my daily spiritual routine.
The thing that really took my meditation to the next level was finding positive affirmation meditations and what I like to call subconscious rewiring meditations. I found those not only helped me with relaxation, peace and clarity, but also helped me to breakthrough my limiting beliefs and fears.
There are a couple of different ways for you to start your meditation practice as well and it doesn't have to be a scary thing.
You can first just take 5 minutes, in a quiet place, just you and start to focus on your breathe. So close your eyes and feel your breath going in an out. You can sit on the floor, lie down, sit on a chair. Just make sure that you are comfortable and in a place where you can be quiet for a few minutes. Do this for a bit and see how things transform before you.
You can choose to go the route of following a guided meditation. This is great as it helps if you get distracted easily but the chatter in your mind. It helps you concentrate while giving your instructions on what to do next. I found this one really good once I was able to just sit and be still with my self after 5 minutes.
